What is it?
Craftpedia.Pass is a project dedicated to the systematic organization and structuring of information on traditional crafts. Each such collection of information is referred to as an International Craft Passport.
All passports are prepared in English. Every statement is supported by references to the academic sources used. Information that cannot be reliably verified through documentary evidence is not included.
Depending on the craft, a passport may include:
- craft name;
- romanized name;
- native name;
- date of origin;
- founder (where known);
- primary materials;
- firing technologies;
- translations of the craft name into other languages;
- stylistic variants;
- and other information supported by academic sources.
